Encouragement.

For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favour lasts a lifetime;
Weeping may remain for a night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.

William McDowell - I Belong To You

A blessed person.

Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
Psalms 1:1-3

A Chosen People

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
1 Peter 2:9-10

If You Should Boast...

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Philippians 3:7-11

This is what the Lord says:
“Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom
or the strong man boast of his strength
or the rich man boast of his riches,
but let him who boasts boast about this:
that he understands and knows me,
that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,"
declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 9:23-24

Jesus The Name Above Every Other Name.

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11

Who Do You Live For?

For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Matthew 10:39

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.
Matthew 16:25

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.
Mark 8:35

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.
Luke 9:24

Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
Luke 17:33

Have confidence and faith in God's presence.

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
Hebrews 10:19

let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:22-23

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

Jesus is the Way to the Father.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the father except through me.
John 14:6

For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance-now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
Hebrews 9:15

to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
Hebrews 12:24

Faith and Deeds

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
James 2:17

And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.
James 2:23-24

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
James 2:26

The Word is live and active

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

Great love of our father

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
1 John 3:1

The Love of Christ
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our live for our brothers.
1 John 3:16
Greater love has no-one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:13
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
John 15:15

John 3:16 the 'greatest' of texts

GOD:
The greatest Lover
SO LOVED:
The greatest degree
THE WORLD:
The greatest company
THAT HE GAVE:
The greatest act
HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON:
The greatest Gift
THAT WHOEVER:
The greatest opportunity
BELIEVES:
The greatest simplicity
IN HIM:
The greatest attraction
SHOULD NOT PERISH:
The greatest promise
BUT:
The greatest difference
HAVE:
The greatest certainty
ETERNAL LIFE:
The greatest possession

If you Believe the Word and receive him, Jesus, you are given the Right.

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
John 1:12

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the Gospel a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith"
Romans 1:16-17

Where does Faith come from?

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word of Christ.
Romans 10:17

To start experiencing power in the Word, faith comes in.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

Origin of the Word of God and its Purpose

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Word of God is God Himself and He dwells among us.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1

The Word Became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14
