PRAY

Matthew 6:9-13
“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

YOUR MISSION IN LIFE

15He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (Mark
16:15-16).

As Christians, we’re on a mission in the earth, and the clarity of our mission is so important. Many people live without purpose, focus and direction; but when you give your heart to Christ, He gives you a clear mission, a definite purpose for living. The Lord
Jesus was unequivocal about our mission; it’s for us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Therefore, let your life count for the Gospel.

No matter who you are, where you are, what you do, and where you do what you do, your primary assignment and purpose for living is to minister God’s Word to those in your world. Your mission is to reach and win the lost to Jesus. Christianity is about soul winning. Therefore, keep talking to others about Jesus, and let your lifestyle be inspiring enough to cause sinners around you to desire to know Jesus.

Let everything about your life culminate in turning men and women to righteousness. Be focused, purposeful and resolute about your mission, which is soul-winning. Jesus said in John 4:34, 34“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.” Then, in John 20:21, He said, 21Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” You’ve been sent to reach all men with the Gospel of life; let your whole life be in pursuit of this purpose! Be passionate about the expansion of God’s Kingdom, and the spread of the message of Christ’s salvation to the ends of the earth.

CONFESSION
I’m a man on a mission, entrusted with the divine responsibility of reaching those in my world with the Gospel of light. My zeal, passion, and commitment to the expansion of God’s Kingdom
is rekindled today. The light of the glorious Gospel of Christ shines brightly in the hearts of men today, taking away darkness, pain, and misery, and bringing them righteousness, light, and glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
2 Corinthians 5:18 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

2 Corinthians 3:6 6He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Matthew 28:19-20 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Amen.

FRIENDS, BEWARE...

FRIENDS, BEWARE WHEN YOU NOTICE ALL THESE IN YOUR LIFE.

1. Beware! When prayer becomes a difficult thing for you.

2. Beware! When fasting is becoming a history in your spiritual timetable.

3. Beware! When you no longer enjoy reading the word of God.

4. Beware! When attending church programme is becoming a burden rather than a blessing for you.

5. Beware! When living a life of holiness is appearing like extremism.

6. Beware! When sinful living becomes a lifestyle in the name of grace.

7. Beware! When you crave for earthly things rather than the things of God.

8. Beware! When waking up in the night to pray is becoming a thing of the past.

9. Beware! brethren, when your heart no longer desires to see the Lord Jesus one day.

10. Beware! when you eat more than pray

11. Beware! when you no longer share the word with others.

12. Beware! When u start diluting the preaching Word of God to keep people around you.

13. Beware! of all these, brethren, Satan isn't resting. We too must be vigilant.

14. Beware! When you spend more time on Facebook, whatsapp, twitter, and internet. These things become idols and take the place of God.

John 10:27-30

[27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
[28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
[29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
[30] I and my Father are one.

Light Lamp

No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.
Matthew 5:15

You have a light inside of yourself. You have the capability to spread light to many people. Do you hide your talents, gifts, and abilities? Put your light on a stand and let everyone benefit from the light you give off. You sure can make a difference in the world by lighting up for everyone else.

Righteous Man

The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.
Proverbs 20:7

Modeling integrity to your children provides a two-fold gift. They witness and learn how to live with integrity. In addition, they are blessed through your integrity because they don't suffer from the consequences of dishonor. What lasting gift are you giving to the next generation?

SILVER COINS

However, we don't want to offend them, so go down to the lake and throw in a line. Open the mouth of the first fish you catch, and you will find a large silver coin. Take it and pay the tax for both of us.
Matthew 17:27

Would you be surprised to find a silver coin in a mouth of a fish? Well, these "silver coins" come to us in many forms each day. While we may work to earn it on earth by "throwing in a line", it is really a blessing from God to provide us with our daily bread. Let's live and work each day with passion and leave the "tax payment" worries to God.

Philippians 4:19

God has a purpose in our lives and everything happens for a reason. It's always to draw your heart closer to Him. Work on uncrossing your fingers and instead say a prayer. There's more power in purpose than random chance!

Comfort Others

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
2 Corinthians 1:4

Do you have a personal ministry? A personal ministry will develop your faith as you minister to other people. If you do have a personal ministry, what is your goal you want to accomplish this year? If you don't have one, think about what calls to your heart. What if it is connecting with your neighbors to walk with them in their trials or perhaps it's showing love to an estranged family member? What do you want to focus on this year that will grow God's kingdom?

History

History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.
Ecclesiastes 1:9

When we gain meaning from anything apart from God we are never completely satisfied. It is only when we seek God that we are truly content in ourselves, our circumstances, and our relationships. While there may be nothing new under the sun, you certainly can count on a relationship with God that is refreshing and satisfying. What are you thankful for that God has been showing you lately?

Today's Bible Trivia

And Nehemiah continued, "Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don't be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!"
Nehemiah 8:10

Have you ever thought about giving to others when you celebrate. Do you incorporate generosity into celebration? Isn't that a way to invite God into your celebration as well? The next time you get consumed with an event like throwing a party or Valentine's Day try to incorporate blessing those less fortunate as a way of honoring the celebration.

One Who Shaped The Mountains

For the LORD is the one who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind. He turns the light of dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth. The LORD God of Heaven's Armies is his name!
Amos 4:13

If you haven't noticed lately, we are surrounded by beauty every day. From deep blue oceans to chipper birds full of songs, all of it was created by God for His glory. With all of the earth singing His praises, He still shares Himself with us and pursues us. Let's give glory to God for all of the blessings He bestowed on us.

Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.
Proverbs 12:18

If you are able to look beyond your hurts for a moment, you can then truly see how much power you have. You actually have the power to build someone up! As a result you will find healing in watching your powerful words become fuel for empowerment to the person you speak into.

Off Every Branch...

He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.
John 15:2

Isn't it painful when God cuts off one of your branches? We begin to turn on the Pruner and develop anger towards Him. Would it help to know God did it because the branch wouldn't produce any fruit? Are there other areas that would be nice if God could have cut sooner before you put in blood, sweat, and tears? Like perhaps a failed business or a dead end job. Be encouraged to know He will stop you if it's not fruitful and He prunes to keep you working harder resulting in fruitfulness.

Such A Time As This

"Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?"
Esther 4:14

God has given you influence, power, and authority for a reason. No matter if you are waiting tables, raising children, or leading an organization, God's given you authority, even if you don't recognize it. You can use your position for your benefit or you can declare it to God. He gave you your influence for a reason. Are you willing to give it back to Him? When a need presents itself today, look for ways you can fulfill the need using your power.

Jus As Christ Has Accepted You

Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
Romans 15:7

Everyone is walking around seeking to be accepted and when it is found, that's where influence makes a real impact on their lives. Skin color, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, intelligence, political beliefs, financial status, are often reasons why we refuse to reach out. Remember this, acceptance is not synonymous with approval, but we are called to love everyone. Does Jesus accept you even though you do things He doesn't approve of? Absolutely!!! So why would we expect others to change before we can accept them?

Accept Each Other

Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
Romans 15:7

When someone is different than you, a lot of times we avoid them because of their differences. What if their differences are something we disagree with? We should accept them anyway. Often, we confuse acceptance and approval but the two are not the same. Everyone wants to be accepted and if others don't feel that from us, how could we ever show them that Jesus Christ accepts them? Think of one person you know you will encounter today who is different from you and find ways to help them feel your acceptance of them.

Six Days

You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but on the seventh day you must stop working, even during the seasons of plowing and harvest.
Exodus 34:21

Even God Himself recognized the Sabbath when He created the earth. So too must we recognize the seventh day. This verse even includes seasons where the work is plentiful and demands more of our time. We should still be vigilant in honoring God whether it be tax season, Christmas season, or cleaning season.

Passed Him

A Jewish man was traveling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by.
Luke 10:30-31

When you see someone in need, do you secretly pout and groan inside? Being a Christian we are responsible to help others. However, sometimes we turn the other way and cross to the other side of the road. A lot of times we just don't want to get involved, lose time, or hear a sob story. Be generous with your mercy.

Today's Bible Trivia

Which animal is not found in the Bible?

C. Gnat
D. Leech

Like Dew

Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew. Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants.
Deuteronomy 32:2

When dew comes, it permeates everything and there's nothing it doesn't touch. Wouldn't it be neat if we allow God's words to do the same in our lives? If we allowed it to permeate all areas of our lives, where would you see God working in you? Maybe it's facing your fear of failure, reconnecting with your estranged brother, or treating your girlfriend with respect. In any case, invite God to shower you with His teachings and be courageous enough to take them to heart and make a change.

Your Worries

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
1 Peter 5:7

Pride can be a dangerous attribute because it holds you back from reaching out for help and admitting you need Him. God loves you and wants the best for you but He wants you to invite Him in by sharing what's on your mind. Are you having a hard time finding work, feeling the burden of caregiving for a loved one, or walking through a rough patch with your spouse? God wants you to put aside your pride and come to Him in prayer.

On A Cloud

Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory.
Luke 21:27

Christ left us with a promise that one day He will come back with glory. While times may only get tougher we know a sweet, beautiful reward is being fulfilled. Because of these hard times we know we get closer to the return of the Lord. As you walk through today, remember the cloud is coming and everyone will see it too.

Hold Firmly

So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.
Hebrews 4:14

Through Christ's resurrection we are assured of our salvation from sin by His blood on the cross. He has entered heaven and by believing in Him we receive eternal life. We must cling to these truths and put our full weight on them as we walk through this life. What habits of faith do you hold firmly to?

Children Of God

For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:26

Is this a hall pass where we get to do whatever pleases us because of our faith in Christ? No way! But if you are feeling unworthy of God's love because of what you have done lately, take heart. God loves you still. This is just a reminder we can easily get out of balance between performing good works and believing those good works will make us right with God. Reflecting back, have you ever become out of balance between the two?

Afternoon Bible Trivia

How was Timothy related to Lois?
A. Mother
B. Grandmother
C. Aunt
D. Sister

Through Faith

For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:26

It's easy to get carried away thinking good works and acts of kindness will make us right with God. Sometimes we put so much faith in our our own abilities that we lose the need for God. However, the Bible is very clear we cannot do enough good deeds to enter heaven. Be comforted in knowing our faith in Jesus will cover us. Yet, even if we believe, it is still easy to slip into performance based thinking where we must accomplish X,Y, and Z in order for God to love us.

Your Favor

Send me a sign of your favor. Then those who hate me will be put to shame, for you, O LORD, help and comfort me.
Psalm 86:17

We all need signs from God every now and then to get through life. It's not just a sign for ourselves, but for other people to recognize. This, in turn, speaks to those who may not have a relationship with Him. When you turn to God for comfort in desperate times it strengthens your relationship with God. Remember, He cares.

Longing To Be Rich

But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
Timothy 6:9

Ask around and everyone will tell you they wish they had more money. But yet, more than likely, there is food on the table and clothes on their backs. We must be diligent in our thoughts to avoid longing to be rich. This greediness leaves us vulnerable to take risks that lead to ruin all for the sake of being rich. Seek out contentment in the Lord and you will receive many blessings.
